Feel-Good News: Sinking Pacific Island Nation Forgives Us With Dying Breath

With all the doom and gloom dominating the news cycle, here’s a feel-good story to restore your faith in humanity: a sinking Pacific island nation forgives us with their dying breath. “That’s just gone and put a smile on my face,” said one local London woman when she heard the news, “I feel warm and fuzzy inside, what a relief.”

The nation used to be a collection of nine coral atolls and islands, housing just over 25,000 people. Now they and their heritage are under the water, due to rising sea levels and severe weather events brought on by climate change. “I always knew this would happen,” a man in Manchester told us, “all of us knew that the small nation would disappear for a long time now, they’d been warning us for years… but the fact that they forgave us in the end for doing nothing feels amazing, thanks for letting me know.”

At press time, no citizens of the sunk nation could be reached for comment.
