‘Sunak Launches Full Assault On Disabled People’ Less Interesting Story Than Promised


News outlets across the UK published headlines this week about Rishi Sunak’s “full-on assault on disabled people”, but despite its promise of hot-blooded blockbuster violence, the articles boiled down to ordinary cruelty at the hands of indifferent politicians and unfeeling institutions. 


“Turns out it’s about the PM cutting personal independence payments and trivialising the suffering of people who depend on them due to serious mental health conditions,” said one local woman who had been seeking a blood-chilling bombshell of epic proportions, only to be disappointed by the actual mundanity of evil. 


She allegedly opened the article looking for criminal images of Rishi Sunak going physically ballistic on a group of vulnerable people. “I expected something big, loud, and utterly shocking,” she said, “but instead I got a quiet tragedy veiled under the dry edifice of fiscal responsibility.


At press time, she still got the kick she was after once she started thinking about systemic, institutional discrimination as a form of real violence just like any other
